Social Psychology WNHS-ZDK-PS
Course contents:
Social psychology as a science: the subject of social psychology, the place of social psychology among other sciences. Man as subject and object in social relations.
Research methods in psychology.
Social influence: informational social influence, normative social influence, reasons of conformity, resisting social influence.
Negotiations: as the situation with succumbing to the influence or exerting pressure; The concept and types of negotiations, the factors affecting the negotiation process, stages of negotiations.
Verbal communication: diagram of the communication process, communication direct and indirect, the principles of effective communication, barriers in the communication process.
Non-verbal communication: the concept, indicators of non-verbal communication, body language interpretation.
The cognitive dissonance theory: cognitive dissonance, postdecision dissonance, dissonance in interpersonal relations, ways to reduce dissonance.
Attributional process - explaining the reasons for own behavior, and others: attribution, attribution external, internal attribution, correspondent inference theory, covariation model, fundamental attribution error, defensive attributions.
Social cognition: saving cognitive schemas, stereotypes, prejudices.
Attitudes: the concept, the process of shaping attitudes, influencing the change of attitude.
The persuasive communication: the effectiveness of persuasive communication, mechanisms used in advertising, resisting the persuasive communication.
Self-presentation - the principle of effective self-presentation, the role of first impression.
Interpersonal relations - from the perspective of theoretical orientations, factors affecting relationships and intergroup. The social exchange theory, the equility theory, the investment model of relationship.
Group processes. The functioning of the individuals in the group: level of performance, decision making, cooperation and competition, the role of leader.
Social psychology and health: to interpret negative events, the degree of control over health, situation and environment, health habits.
Stress: sources of stress, stress reactions, the consequences of prolonged or repeated stress, ways of deal with stress. Burnout syndrome.
