Familiarity with the relevant sources and scholarly works is required for the study and subsequent practical application of canon law and legal sciences. A significant proportion of commentaries, articles and monographs on canon law are published in Spanish, as are some scholarly sources. This makes it necessary to become familiar with the specialised terminology in Spanish. The ability to translate from and into Spanish is also useful. Furthermore, communicating and corresponding with various foreign institutions and agencies requires the use of Spanish. The proposed course aims to impart the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to perform the aforementioned tasks.
