The seminar dr aims to approximate and illustrate the origins of canon law, its formation and development in the Church. Evolution and change in norms of canon law throughout the centuries of Church history. The approximation of the church legislation contained in the 1917 Code and the analysis of the period of canon law after the Second Vatican Council and the impact of the Council Resolutions on the shape of canon law norms contained in the Code of Canon Law of 1983. The canonical law was developed and developed, as well as showing the oldest monuments of canonical literature, canonical didactic centers, and, above all, the development, development and significance of synodic law in the Church and in Poland.
On the basis of these messages and their pop development on individual interests and specific research topics, research into various issues related to the history of canon law universal and Polish by preparing doctoral dissertation. The seminar will also feature elements of creative scientific discussion, sharing of research undertaken and presentation of their results, as well as presenting an edited dissertation text.

Knowledge:
EK - 1 - student at elementary level knows the basic concepts of canon law, has a deepened knowledge of the specificity of methodological and methodological canon law;
EK - 2 - student has extensive knowledge of the nature of canon law, its historical conditioning, and its place and importance in the legal sciences and in relation to other sciences;
EK - 3 - student has an orderly knowledge of the formation of canon law in the Church in various collections starting with the Decree of Gracjan, Council of Trent, through the Corpus Iuris Caninici. The Code of Canon Law of 1917, the Second Vatican Council, and the Code of Canon Law of 1983.
EK - 4 - student has knowledge about the most important institutes of canon law that have arisen, formed and function in universal canon law and particular Polish law; Knows the basics of the methodology of scientific work.

EK - 5 - student can identify, understand, describe and analyze processes and legal phenomena, the most important institutions of canon law in the historical aspect, and can create their own assessment;
EK - 6 - student knows, understands and can speak in canon and in writing institutions of canon law and issues related to the history of universal canon law and the history of canon law in Poland;
EK - 7 - student is able to seek, find and use sources of the universal history of canon law and the history of canon law in Poland, as well as to formulate research theses and apply appropriate methods of their verification;
competence:
EK - 8 - student can plan and organize and conduct his own research projects using appropriate research methods in the field of canon law;
EK - 9 - student actively and creatively engages in the course of research, formulating his own statements, posing research theses and creatively participating in explaining and presenting researched research.

Assessment criteria
The student should be present and active at the doctoral seminar. If absent, he or she should justify it and may be absent only three times throughout the semester. As part of the seminar students will be required to present the state of scientific research related to the topic of the PhD, a query, a plan of work, a systematic work written, and its presentation (chapters). He should make progress in writing his doctoral dissertation and present it at the seminar.
