Acting Techniques WH-KU-M-II-1-TechAkt
In terms of KNOWLEDGE: During our meetings, we will revise such topics as:
– How and why was the Theater established? Why has it changed over time?
– What artistic and social role was assigned to the Actor in the Theater, in the past and today?
– How did the Actors try to meet these expectations? - A bit about the history of acting.
In terms of SKILL DEVELOPMENT: ACTING TECHNIQUES, including:
– The role of creative imagination, i.e., accepting the stage truth as the real one,
– The awareness that the Actor is both a "musician" and an “instrument”,
– The exploration (through the rehearsals) of the Actor’s craft, as well as of the accurate transfer of the emotions and thoughts – therefore the improvement of the Voice, Diction, Gestures and Facial Expressions
– How to understand the Acting Task? And the function of Role, Scene and Action
– A creative interpretation of a prose, classical text
– Script preparation for a short play (based on the literature)
– Utilization of the space, stage movement, scenery, music, costumes, and props during the rehearsals
– The role of the Producer / Director
At the end of the course, we will have the satisfaction to present our short plays (performances) in front of the Group.
And the final reflection: The Acting Techniques are not only the stage domain. A clear expression of thoughts, including the necessary emotions and dialogue that it contains - are a crucial factor in a proper social communication that enables cooperation, and thus development.
