(in Polish) Milanese culture through design and fashion WH-KON-KUZ-II-MC
The course introduces questions of Milanese culture through the lens of fashion, art and design, which have had a considerable impact on the perception of the city and its development. The reflections begin with the contemporary history of the city and its growth. The most important works of architecture and art are set against the backdrop of the reflections. The student becomes familiar with the evolution of the leading artistic trends in Milan and the reception of international phenomena on the ground of the city and their cultural reception. The analysis is based on both works of avant-garde and contemporary art, which are strongly linked to the city's development. The student acquires knowledge of the history of design trends in Italy from the beginning of the 20th century, through Futurism, Pop, Postmodernism, and the latest trends. Participants learn about the most important Milanese designers and companies. Fashion, which is inseparably associated with the city, is the final section of the course. The programme touches on the origins of fashion shows in Florence and the development of Milan as the Italian fashion capital. The most important fashion brands, designers, and styles are recalled. Students are able to use the information to comprehend the influence of the arts on the city's development and the emergence of a specific culture based largely on the visual sphere.
