(in Polish) Le preposizioni italiane: uso e significato WH-KON-FW-I-LPI
ourse description
The course is devoted to an in-depth analysis of the use and meaning of prepositions in contemporary Italian. It is not intended as a basic grammar course, but focuses on more complex and problematic aspects of prepositional constructions.
The course examines the relationship between preposition choice and meaning, prepositional complementation of verbs, nouns and adjectives, alternation between different constructions, and the use of prepositions in relation to syntactic, semantic and pragmatic context.
The language material includes examples from contemporary Italian, including functional, journalistic and literary texts as well as spoken language. The course also addresses error analysis and differences between grammatical norms and actual language use.
The aim of the course is to develop students’ ability to analyse language problems independently, formulate and justify interpretations, and use prepositional constructions consciously and precisely.

Knowledge
The student knows the basic concepts and tools of linguistic description used in the analysis of Italian prepositions and understands the specific nature of linguistic research into their form, meaning and use.
FW1_W01
Skills
The student formulates problems concerning the use and meaning of Italian prepositions and selects appropriate methods and linguistic examples for their analysis.
FW1_U03
The student uses correct linguistic terminology when describing and analysing the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic functions of Italian prepositions.
FW1_U03
The student analyses the use of prepositions in sentences and texts, compares possible constructions and explains differences in meaning resulting from the choice of a particular preposition.
FW1_U07
The student synthesises the results of linguistic analysis and clearly and logically justifies the adopted interpretation of selected prepositional constructions.

Assessment criteria
FW1_W01 – Knowledge of the place and significance of philological studies and the methodological specificity of linguistic research
Grade 5.0 (Very Good): The student demonstrates a very good knowledge of the basic concepts and tools of linguistic description used in the analysis of Italian prepositions and accurately explains the specific nature of linguistic research into their form, meaning and use.
Grade 4.5 (Good Plus): The student demonstrates a very good knowledge of most of the concepts and methods covered and applies them correctly in the analysis of Italian prepositions; minor errors occur only occasionally.
Grade 4.0 (Good): The student demonstrates a good knowledge of the basic concepts and methods of linguistic analysis and applies them correctly to typical examples.
Grade 3.5 (Satisfactory Plus): The student knows the basic concepts and analytical tools but does not always apply them consistently or precisely.
Grade 3.0 (Satisfactory): The student demonstrates sufficient knowledge of basic linguistic concepts and is able to apply them to simple examples of preposition use.
FW1_U03 – Formulation and development of research problems and selection of appropriate methods
Grade 5.0 (Very Good): The student independently and precisely formulates problems concerning the use and meaning of Italian prepositions, selects appropriate analytical methods, properly justifies their choice and uses correct linguistic terminology.
Grade 4.5 (Good Plus): The student formulates problems and selects appropriate analytical methods very well; only occasional minor support is required with justification or terminology.
Grade 4.0 (Good): The student correctly formulates basic analytical problems and selects appropriate methods, although the justification is not always fully developed.
Grade 3.5 (Satisfactory Plus): The student is able to formulate a problem and indicate a possible analytical method but requires support in applying and justifying it.
Grade 3.0 (Satisfactory): With the instructor’s support, the student formulates basic problems concerning the use of prepositions and applies simple methods of analysis.
FW1_U07 – Analysis and synthesis and clear and logical presentation and justification of a position
Grade 5.0 (Very Good): The student independently and accurately analyses prepositional constructions, compares possible solutions, explains differences in meaning and presents the results of the analysis in a clear, logical and well-justified manner.
Grade 4.5 (Good Plus): The student analyses and compares prepositional constructions very well and correctly justifies their position; occasional shortcomings do not significantly affect the quality of the analysis.
Grade 4.0 (Good): The student correctly analyses typical constructions and provides a logical justification for their interpretation, although the analysis of more complex examples may be less in-depth.
Grade 3.5 (Satisfactory Plus): The student carries out a basic analysis and is able to present their own position, but the argumentation is partly incomplete or insufficiently precise.
Grade 3.0 (Satisfactory): The student analyses simple prepositional constructions at a basic level and, with the instructor’s support, presents and justifies their interpretation.
