The student knows the main facts from the history of Poland, understands their conditions and influence history on the development of culture, especially Polish language and literature. He knows such concepts as patrimonial monarchy, estate monarchy, free election, serfdom, servitudes. It explains the origins of the Piast dynasty and the division of the districts. Explains the reasons for the partitions of Poland. It describes the social and economic changes in Poland in the 19th century. Understands the Polish insurrectionist and positivist tradition.
Assessment criteria
For a very good grade, the student knows all the introduced facts from the history of Poland, understands their conditions and the impact of history on the development of culture, especially Polish language and literature.
