Ethics of Social Life 1 WF-FI-21-ERS1
The course introduces students to the basic issues of social ethics. It is a continuation of the presentation of key research questions undertaken in the field of moral philosophy broadly understood (metaetics, general ethics, applied ethics / ethics of individual life). The first part reviews the main positions in the contemporary debates on social ethics with particular emphasis on the elementary assumptions underlying each of them. The concepts of liberalism, communitarianism and marxism will be analyzed. Next, the classic philosophical conceptions of human nature and the way they expose the social nature of man will be discussed. After reviewing the most important definitional approaches to the phenomenon of human society, the basic socio-moral principles will be analyzed. The final theme of the course will be elementary social relations that form the basis of the philosophical conceptions of marriage and family.
