Description of the ECTS
Participation in the lectures - 30 hrs., participation in the classes - 30 hrs., preparation for the classes (including students’ presentation) 20 hrs., consultations - 5 hrs., preparation for the midterm exams - 15 hrs., preparation for the final exam - 20 hrs. In total -120 hrs.
No ECTS: 120 hrs / 30(25) hrs = ca. 4

Knowledge
grade 2 (unsatisfactory): the student does not know the basic terminology in the field of vertebrate zoology, does not understand biological processes
grade 3 (satisfactory): the student knows to a limited extent the terminology in the field of vertebrate zoology, has a limited knowledge of biological processes
grade 4 (good): the student knows the terminology in the field of vertebrate zoology, has general knowledge about the evolution of vertebrate animals, their anatomy and physiology. He/she is aware of current trends in the advancements of zoology
grade 5 (excellent): student has full knowledge of the terminology and scope of interest of vertebrate zoology, is able to analyze the relationship between anatomy and physiology, can assess the usefulness of taxonomy for the advancement of zoology. The student identifies domestic species of vertebrate animals
Skills
grade 2 (unsatisfactory): the student is unable to use basic zoology research techniques and tools, perform observations or perform simple zoological measurements in the laboratory; is unable to find-out reliable sources of scientific information in the discipline of vertebrate zoology; cannot properly present the content of simple texts in zoology; does not show progress in gaining knowledge of zoology
grade 3 (satisfactory): the student has only a limited ability to use basic zoology research techniques and tools, perform observations or perform simple zoological measurements in the laboratory; has a limited ability to find-out reliable sources of scientific information in the discipline of vertebrate zoology; has a limited ability to properly present the content of simple texts in zoology; demonstrates a limited progress in gaining knowledge of zoology
grade 4 (good): the student has a good ability to use basic zoology research techniques and tools, perform observations or perform simple zoological measurements in the laboratory; has a good ability to find-out reliable sources of scientific information in the discipline of vertebrate zoology; has a good ability to properly present the content of simple texts in zoology; demonstrates a good progress in gaining knowledge of zoology
grade 5 (excellent): the student fluently applies basic zoology research techniques and tools, conducts observations or performs simple zoological measurements in the laboratory; the student is able to effectively analyze, summarize and present simple scientific texts on zoology; while deepening her/his knowledge she/he goes beyond the subject matter of the classes

Final grades consist of:
1. Lecture: ocena z egzaminu testowego; aby przystąpić do egzaminu należy uzyskać zaliczenie ćwiczeń na ocenę minimum 3 (dst)
2. Classes: class attendance and activity – participation in discussions, multimedia presentation on a given topic (for a grade) and mid-term examinations. Attendance - two justified absences are excusable. Unexcusing absentions will result in a lower rating from the classes half grade downgrade
