Learning outcomes
BI1_W01 listener understands basic phenomena and genetic processes, with particular emphasis on the structure and functions of nucleic acids, basic processes related to the expression of genes, human genome construction, genetic inheritance, genetic counseling, and basic epigenetic mechanisms of epigenetic mechanisms
BI1_W03 listener has the knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry essential to understanding basic phenomena and genetic processes.
BI1_W05 listener is knowledgeable in basic conceptual categories and in genetic and epigenetic terminology and has knowledge of the development of genetics and epigenetics and the research methods used in these fields.
BI1_W07 listener has knowledge of basic techniques and research tools used in genetics and epigenetics.
BI1_W09 listener knows basic principles of occupational health and safety
BI1_U01 listener understands basic techniques and research tools used in genetics and epigenetics
BI1_U02 listener understands literature in the field of genetics in English; He reads uncomplicated scientific texts in English
BI1_U03 listener uses available sources of information, including electronic sources
BI1_U07 listener demonstrates the ability to correctly reason inferences based on data from different sources
BI1_U11 learner learns independently in a targeted manner
Assessment criteria
Written test - verification of learning outcomes through partially single-choice written test, open questions constitute part of the test.
The final grade depends on the points from the test; to get credit for 3 (sufficient) - min. 60% is required, for 4 (good) - min. 75%, out of 5 (very good) - min. 90%.
Class attendance - two absences are admitted per semester, in special cases (hospital, special random accidents) three absences can be accepted. Three absences - reduction of grade by 0.5, more absences - incomplete, failed classes.
Practical placement
