The aim of the doctoral seminar is to support PhD students in the preparation of their doctoral dissertation. The topic of the seminar, its form and evaluation criteria are determined individually by each scientific supervisor - taking into account the general expected learning outcomes.

As part of the doctoral seminar, skills and competences corresponding to the 8th level of the Polish Qualifications Framework are developed. Specifically, after completing four years of the seminar the doctoral student is able to:
• use knowledge from various fields to creatively identify, formulate and solve complex research problems or perform research tasks (in particular: to define the research goals, formulate research hypotheses, develop adequate research methods, techniques and tools and apply them creatively and to draw conclusions based on the study results);
• plan and conduct a research project (individually and in a research team), also in an international environment;
• independently plan and act for their own development as well as inspire and organize the development of other people;
The PhD student is also ready to:
• critically assess the achievements of psychology;
• critically evaluate one's own contribution to the development of psychology;
• recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems;
• maintain and develop the ethos of research community, including: conducting research in an independent manner, respecting the principle of public ownership of scientific research results, taking into account the principles of intellectual property protection.
Assessment criteria
Specific evaluation criteria are defined individually by each supervisor.
