Vocabulary: Music, music festivals; sleep deprivation; breaking news, the media; politics and famous politicians; towns and cities; science and famous scientists.

Grammar: gerunds and infinitives, used to, be used to, get used to, reporting verbs, articles, uncountable and plural nouns, have something done, quantifiers: all / every, etc.

Academic skills: preparing and delivering presentations, writing formal letters,

Assessment: Continuous assessment on the basis of class attendance (no more than two unjustified absences in a semester), active participation, preparation for classes; a written test at the end of the semester
