Course content:
Vocabulary: noun formation, prepositions occurring with verbs and adjectives, work, shopping, cinema;
Grammar: quantifiers: a lot of, much, many, few, little, etc., definite and indefinite articles, gerund and infinitive, reported speech: statements, questions and commands, introducing passive voice;
Academic skills: writing formal letters, a letter of application and CV, preparing and delivering presentations;
Assessment: Continuous assessment on the basis of class attendance (no more than two unjustified absences in a semester), active participation, preparation for classes; a written test at the end of the semester
