New Testament Foundations of Christian Morality WT-SSTA-N

One of the recommendations of the Second Vatican Council was the postulate to consider the problems of Christian morality in moral theology on the basis of the Holy Scriptures. Old or New Testament. Special care must be given to the perfecting of moral theology. Its scientific exposition, nourished more on the teaching of the Bible, should shed light on the loftiness of the calling of the faithful in Christ and the obligation that is theirs of bearing fruit in charity for the life of the world. Decree on priestly formation Optatam Totius nr 16. The lectures entitled: New Testament foundations of Christian morality will discuss moral issues in the perspective of the New Testament. Students will gain knowledge about the Teachings of the Catholic Church about the existence of timeless and universal moral norms in the New Testament.

Efekty kształcenia

The student uses the appropriate research method (historical-critical) in interpreting moral issues in the perspective of the New Testament. Is able to identify and explain the basic moral issues contained in the New Testament.
He knows the main documents of the Catholic Church in the moral and biblical interpretation. He points out the arguments of both opponents and supporters of the issue of absolute and unchanging moral standards.
