Form of credit of the lectures: a written exam (open questions)
Form of credit of the workshops: a written work - a case study.
Requirements of credit of the lectures: positive grade on the exam.
Requirements of credit of the workshops: attendance and active participation in the workshops (three absences allowed); the written work handed in on time and positively graded.
Contents of the lectures:
1.Introduction to educational psychology: the notion of education, aims of education in pedagogical and psychological conceptions.
2.Means of educational interventions.
3. Award and punishment; negative consequences of punishing and awarding
4. Imitation and modeling: explanations of imitation phenomenon; determinants of modeling effectiveness.
5. Shaping of attitudes and implementation of norms: the process of internalization of values and norms; educational determinants of moral development.
6. Mechanisms of education in family.
7. Parental attitudes: dimensions of parental attitudes, typologies and determinants of parental attitudes and their consequences for child development.
8. The role of family in the light of chosen theories.
9. The role of father in child education.
10. Methods of studies on the role of family in child development
11. Typologies of teacher’s behavior and teacher’s errors.
12. Determinants of teacher’s behavior: the role of teacher’s expectations, implicit teacher’s programms.
13. Environmental and pedagogical determinants of pupils’ functioning at school and indices of success at school.
14. Bio-psychological determinants of pupils’ functioning at school; interactive character of influences.
15. Educational problems: types of problems and their sources.
Contents of the workshops:
1. Introduction to the subject of workshops.
2. Ways to diagnose the educational environment of the family.
3. Questionnaire techniques for diagnosis of family environment on the example of the SOR - polish adaptation of FACES by D. Olson.
4. Diagnosis of family relations in adolescents' perception on the example KRR Questionnaire by M. Plopa and P. Połomski.
5. Questionnaire techniques for diagnosis of parental attitudes in self-perceptions of mothers and fathers on the example of SPR Questionnaire by M. Plopa.
6. Questionnaire techniques for diagnosis of parental attitudes in perception of children on the example KPR-Roc Questionnaire by M. Plopa.
7. "Rysunek Rodziny"test by A. Frydrychowicz as an example of drawing projective techniques used for diagnosis of family relationships - theoretical introduction.

9. Diagnosis of functioning of children and youths in school.
10. Improper education as the cause of the problems in development and functioning of a child - discussion based on empirical data from the scientific literature.
11. Rules for written final work: the search for relationship between the properties of the family environment and socio-emotional and school functioning of a child based on existing literature and conducted by students studies.
12. Psychological support in the area of educational psychology - workshops.
13. Basics of designing and conducting prevention and psycho-correction programs for children and youths - workshops (part 1).
14. Basics of designing and conducting prevention and psycho-correction programs for children and youths - workshops (part 2).
15. Discussion of the written final work and a summary of activities.
