Sacramental catechesis WT-SSTA-SCA
The topics of the classes are related, firstly, to the process of Christian growth in faith from the moment of baptism through other sacraments of initiation towards adulthood (process perspective), secondly, to the involvement of the ecclesial community (parents, relatives, parish, friends) - as a work of the Church (religious socialization perspective), thirdly, to acquiring the ability for spiritual discernment as a basic tool of an adult Christian (moral and spiritual perspective).
The implementation of this content is to contribute to the implementation of the appropriate learning outcomes related to undertaking evangelization and catechetical practice (STL_W05; STL_U10; STL_K07) in the local Church, as well as cultural and religious dialogue in the African context (STL_W08; STL_K05; STL_K07).
The following topics will be discussed during the classes:
1. Catechesis as a work of the Church.
2. Sacraments and their administration in pastoral practice.
3. Preparation for the sacraments: the perspective of human development and faith.
4. Catechesis and liturgy.
5. Preparation for baptism.
6. Catechumenal dimension of catechesis.
7. Preparation for the sacrament of the Eucharist.
8. Preparation for the sacrament of penance and reconciliation.
9. Preparation for the sacrament of confirmation.
10. Mystagogical catechesis.
11. Catechesis of the sick and the sacrament of anointing.
12. Premarital catechesis.
13. Catechesis in the family.
14. The parish as a sacramental community.
15. Organization of pastoral care.

KNOWLEDGE (W 5 and 8):
The student knows the main principles of the evangelization, pastoral, catechetical and charitable activities of the Catholic Church, ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, as well as threats to religious development. He also knows the importance and subject matter of catechesis preparing for the reception of the sacraments in the Church community.
SKILLS (U 10):
The student is able to creatively engage in various forms of evangelization, pastoral, catechetical and charitable activities of the Catholic Church.
COMPETENCES (K 5 and 7):
The student is aware of the complexity of reality and understands the need for an interdisciplinary approach to solving problems. He is also aware of his own responsibility for the shape of social life, culture, Christian heritage and the quality of catechesis preparing candidates and their families to receive the holy sacraments.
Assessment criteria
Very good grade (5) - the student is perfectly versed in the subject matter of the classes; understands the principles of the Church's evangelization and catechetical activity; convincingly expresses his/her own responsibility for preparation for the sacraments within catechesis;
Good plus grade (4+) - the student is perfectly versed in the subject matter of the classes; understands the principles of the Church's evangelization and catechetical activity; understands and explains the need to involve the entire community in preparing the candidate to receive the holy sacraments.
Good grade (4) - the student is versed in the subject matter of the classes; understands the principles of the Church's evangelization and catechetical activity; understands and explains the need to involve the entire community in preparing the candidate to receive the holy sacraments.
Satisfactory plus grade (3+) - the student is comfortable with the terminology used in the classes; presents the principles of the Church's evangelization and catechetical activity; explains the principles of conducting sacramental catechesis;
Satisfactory grade (3) - the student is comfortable with the terminology used in the classes; presents the principles of the Church’s evangelization and catechetical activity; student does not fully cope with justifying some of the principles that apply in catechetical preparation for receiving the holy sacraments.
