Moral challenges of the present day according to Pope Francis WT-SST-WF
Undoubtedly, among the tasks that the present Pope sets before the Church today is the task of "missionary conversion". Therefore, it is necessary to first trace these critical points and planes, where this challenge becomes extremely topical. For the present lecture, we include the issue of pedophilia of the clergy and the correction of the Church's errors in this area, the attitude towards emigrants and refugees, sensitivity to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged, the issue of protecting the natural environment. These problems were reflected in the documents of Pope Francis.
The lecture will consist in a detailed analysis of those fragments of the documents of the present pontificate that concern the problems just mentioned here. A joint analysis of the reality and the papal texts devoted to it will allow a deeper understanding of the papal plans concerning the Church and the world today. A recurring question during the lecture will be the question of the frequent misunderstanding of papal proposals, also in the Church today. Francis' call to a thorough, yet peaceful reform of the contemporary Church will not be left without a response.
As detailed issues, it is worth mentioning:
1. Today's understanding of the missionary nature of the Church.
2. The ecological issue.
3. Methods of solving the problem of clergy pedophilia and its consequences.
4. Church for the poor and for the poor.
5. Activities aimed at the development of the Church in the modern world.
6. Counteracting threats in relation to the accomplishment of the work of evangelization.
7. The novelty of the present pontificate.
