The thematic scope includes:
The status questionis of Mariology of the Old Testament. Explanation of the methodological approach used in the course.
Prophecy Gen. 3.15 in the Mariological perspective
Prophecy Isaiah 7.14 in Mariological perspective.
Prophecy Mich. 5.1-5 in the Mariological perspective.
Matriarchs of the OT in the framework of Mariological typology.
Old Testament Marian symbols.
Old Testament Mariology in the light of canonical exegesis.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes (LO):
LO 1 After completing the course the student has acquired an in-depth knowledge of exegesis and interpretation of fragments of the Old Testament which contain Marian prophecies, figures and symbols (TD-W02).
LO 2 In terms of skills, the student analyzes and criticizes the hypotheses of various authors and is able to apply the literary techniques learned in class to analyze and interpret Mariological threads of the Old Testament (TD-U06).
LO 3 In terms of social competence, the student is open to various points of view, is creative in the personal use of acquired knowledge and skills to read Mariological texts of the Old Testament (TD-K03).
Description of ECTS:
Participation in classes: 12 hours.
Student's own work and consultation with the teacher: 18 hours.
Total: 30 hours = 1 ECTS.
Assessment criteria
LO No. 1 referred to as “the student has acquired an in-depth knowledge of exegesis and interpretation of fragments of the Old Testament, which contain prophecies, figures and Marian symbols.”
Grades:
Insufficient (2): S/he does not have a sufficient knowledge of literary, historical and theological issues related to exegesis and interpretation of Old Testament fragments containing Mariological themes.
Sufficient (3): S/he sufficiently knows the interpretation issues in the field of exegesis and interpretation of Mariological texts.
Good (4): S/he knows literary, historical and theological issues related to exegesis and interpretation of Mariological texts.
Very good (5): S/he has great erudition in presenting literary, historical and theological issues regarding exegesis and interpretation of Mariological fragments of OT.
LO No. 2 referred to as s/he “analyzes and criticizes the hypotheses of various authors and is able to use the literary techniques learned during classes to identify and interpret the Mariological threads of the Old Testament for analysis of the texts studied.”
Grades:
Insufficient (2): S/he cannot apply the known methodological criteria for the analysis of selected, included in the lecture, fragments of OT.
Sufficient (3): S/he is able to apply the simplest methodological criteria (literary, historical and theological) to interpret the indicated fragments of OT.
Good (4): S/he can carry out the correct exegesis of the indicated Mariological texts based on the methodological criteria learned during lectures.
Very good (5): Can precisely and creatively apply known methodological criteria to analyze the indicated Mariological texts.
LO No. 3 described as being open to various points of view, creative in the personal use of acquired knowledge and skills for reading Mariological texts of the Old Testament.
Grades:
Insufficient (2): A student is closed to all other points of view, except that he accepts as the only true one, he is not able to use the acquired knowledge and skills in relations with others.
Sufficient (3): S/he is not enough open to different points of view, not enough creative in using the acquired knowledge, and is not able to apply the principles of interpretation learned to read texts other than those discussed in class.
Good (4): S/he is open to various points of view, creative in the use of knowledge and skills acquired during the lecture, skillfully applies the acquired research tools to read various texts.
Very good (5): S/he is very open to a comprehensive and multi-faceted assessment of the issues studied, creative in the use of acquired knowledge and skills.
Verification of learning outcomes will take place at two stages: 1) an essay written on a topic indicated by the teacher related to the interpretation of the Mariological issues concerning the OT; 2) oral exam during the session.
