Moral Theology of Social Life WT-DTE-SZS
Substantive contents:
The aim of the second part of the meetings is to prepare master’s thesis. It consists of two stages.
The first stage of the seminar is focused on the issues of methodology of writing a master’s thesis. The student learns how to “discover” a subject. The point is not only to find a subject to present it in a written form, but first of all to creatively search for a subject which – when written upon – would at least to some degree give some answers to current moral issues. In this way the student discovers that he or she is to a certain point a researcher.
The second stage is specifically devoted to the preparation of the master’s thesis. The student learns to share the difficulties he/she comes across, to creatively resolve them and to develop an awareness of intellectual community, expressed in opening to other students’ thesis subjects, mutual support and common search for solutions of encountered problems.
Methods of assessment:
The condition of getting credit for the first year course is an active participation in discussions, preparing and presenting one topic, getting credit for knowing the formal rules of thesis writing. The condition to get credit for the second year course is to present the subject of the thesis, its synopsis and bibliography, and to write its first chapter. The condition to get credit for the final year is to present the complete thesis.
