Working with socially maladjusted students in educational and rehabilitation institutions WNP-PS-INS
Programme content:
- Theoretical recognition of social maladjustment in terms of personality, psychological, sociological, behavioural conditions.
- Determinants of social maladjustment - environmental (family life, school life, peers), biological.
- Educational measures applied to socially maladjusted persons.
- Principles of functioning and methods of work in care and upbringing institutions, institutions of resocialisation upbringing.
- The role of school in prevention of social maladjustment. Cooperation of the school with institutions.
- Model of work with a socially maladjusted student or a student in danger of maladjustment.
- Methods of work in an open environment (case-work, group-work and net-work).
- Sociotherapy and bibliotherapy - ways of influencing the socially maladjusted student and the student in danger of maladjustment.
- Analysis of individual cases.

Subject learning outcomes in terms of:
KNOWLEDGE: The student
- knows the specificity of mental, social and educational functioning of students with social maladjustment and at risk of social maladjustment;
- knows ways of adapting the educational process to individual special educational needs of students with social maladjustment and at risk of social maladjustment;
- Has in-depth specialist knowledge in the scope of methodology of work of
of a school and re-socialisation pedagogue;
- has in-depth knowledge necessary to conduct educational, preventive and re-socialisation activities.
SKILLS: The student
- is able to adapt the process of education and upbringing to individual special needs of a student with social maladjustment and at risk of social maladjustment;
- Is able to define, on the basis of an assessment and the WOPFU, therapeutic aims in relation to students with social maladjustment and at risk of social maladjustment;
- is able to work in a team of educators and re-socialisers, to communicate on specialised topics with
diverse audiences in a precise and coherent manner.
COMPETENCES: The student
- is able to communicate with parents/guardians and teachers of a student with social maladjustment or at risk of social maladjustment.
Assessment criteria
The learning outcomes in question will be verified in two forms: a learning project (skills and competences) - 50% and a presentation (knowledge) - 20%. Student activity in class is also assessed - 30%.
The student is given a credit with a mark, according to the following criteria:
Very good grade - obtaining from 96% - 100% of the total number of points possible to obtain.
Good plus - 86% - 95% of the total number of points.
Good - 76% - 85% of the total number of points possible.
Grade Sufficient plus - obtaining 66% - 75% of the total number of points possible.
Sufficient - 60% - 65% of the total number of points.

ECTS [1 ECTS = 25 hrs]:
Participation in exercises - 30 hrs.
Consultations - 5 hrs.
Literature study - 10 hours.
Preparation for classes and passing the subject - 30 hours.
