The aim of the course is to present knowledge and solutions in the field of revitalization of degraded areas. Legal and administrative procedures, social effects, technical and technological solutions and financial aspects will be analysed.

Learning outcomes
Objective effect No. 1 - The graduate knows and understands the technical and technological solutions for the revitalization of degraded areas, e.g. post-industrial, urban, post-military, natural areas. He can combine the acquired knowledge on the causes and effects of degradation with the technical possibilities of restoring degraded objects to technical and environmental standards. The graduate knows and understands the legal and administrative procedures as well as the financing of revitalization programs to a basic degree. Is able to present the goals of reclamation and effective tools for achieving the assumed goals for a specific case (IS2P_W01).
Objective effect No. 2 - The graduate is able to use their knowledge to understand the complex problems of revitalization and development of degraded areas. Can use legal acts, scientific and technical studies to price and critical analysis of the state of degradation and directions of revitalization (IS2P_U01).
Objective effect No. 3– The graduate is able to communicate with specialists in various fields in order to obtain additional information and opinions. Is able to formulate and monitor the implemented revitalization goals, such as: social, economic affecting the improvement of living conditions of residents, protection of natural and historical resources (IS2P_U05).
Objective effect No. 4 - The graduate is able to use their knowledge - formulate and solve complex and unusual problems in the field of development and revitalization of degraded areas and innovatively perform tasks in unpredictable conditions by using a foreign language at the B2 level and specialist terminology (IS2P_U07).
Assessment criteria
Assessment criteria in terms of knowledge:
Student in the field of knowledge:
- for the assessment of 5 (very good) - has complete knowledge of the causes and effects of environmental degradation. He can very well assess the degree of environmental degradation and plan remedial actions. He knows very well the ways of developing brownfields. He can very well take into account social needs in the revitalization process.
- to score 4 (db) - has knowledge of the causes and effects of environmental degradation. Can assess the degree of environmental degradation well and plan remedial actions. He knows well the ways of developing brownfields. Can take into account social needs in the revitalization process.
- to grade 3 (dst) - knows the basic concepts of the causes and effects of environmental degradation. Can assess the degree of environmental degradation and plan remedial actions. He can indicate the ways of developing degraded areas. Can take into account social needs in the revitalization process.
- to the grade 2 (ndst) - does not know the basic concepts of the causes and effects of environmental degradation. He is unable to assess the degree of environmental degradation and plan remedial actions. He does not know the ways of developing brownfields. Cannot take into account social needs in the revitalization process.
