Fuels combustion and classification. Classification of fuels. Heat of combustion. “2” thermodynamic principle. Egzergy. Carnot cycle. Heating cycles and cycle efficiency. Thermodynamic temperature scale. Mathematical interpretation of the second thermodynamic principle. . “3” thermodynamic principle. Knowledge:
After accomplishing of the study, a student:
- IS1_W01 possesses a knowledge in mathematics, physics and chemistry needed for formulation and solution of simple technical thermodynamics;
- IS1_W03 possesses a theoretically based, general knowledge concerning the key tasks of technical thermodynamics
- IS1_W04 possesses a detailed knowledge concerning selected, most important from the point of view of one’s study, tasks of technical thermodynamics;
- IS1_W06 knows basic methods, techniques, tools and materials used for solution of simple problems in technical thermodynamics;
Skills:
- IS1_U01 can acquire technical thermodynamics information from literature, data bases and other different resources as well as can both integrate and interpret them and formulate appropriate conclusions;
- IS1_U10 can critically analyze and evaluate existing technical solutions concerning industrial systems, objects, installations, processes, etc., connected with technical thermodynamics;
- IS1_U11 can identify and formulate specification of simple practical, typical for technical thermodynamics, engineers tasks;
- IS1_U12 can select and use a proper method or tool as well as evaluate suitability of typical methods and tools needed for solution of simple, practical tasks concerning with technical thermodynamics;

- IS1_K02 understands the importance of beyond technical aspects and results of engineers activities, their influence on environment and responsibility of undertaken decisions;
