Autopsy classes (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) are held in person at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Forensic Medicine, UKSW, at 19A Fosa Street. Seminars (Tuesdays and Thursdays) are held in person in the Faculty of Forensic Medicine building at 1/3 Wóycickiego Street.
Students are required to attend all classes (seminars and tutorials). Lateness of more than 15 minutes will irrevocably result in refusal to participate in the class and will be recorded as an absence. Students arriving less than 15 minutes late must ensure that their attendance is recorded by the instructor immediately after the class ends.
Repeated lateness requires the writing of a short review paper on a topic designated by the instructor.
All absences, regardless of the reason, must be made up in the manner specified by the course coordinator. In the event of absences exceeding three days of a block, regardless of the reason, the student is required to complete the block with the next group in the same academic year or the following year.
Each student is required to attend classes with their own group (respectively, a tutorial and a seminar group). It is not possible to exchange classes between groups. The only exceptions are those with an Individual Study Plan and those with written consent from the Dean to exchange classes, a copy of which must be submitted to the Department before the start of the block of classes.
General rules for passing the course:
The required knowledge for the exam covers the topics indicated in the course syllabus and those found in the textbooks indicated in the syllabus, as well as topics presented by teachers during classes. All material included in the textbooks and presented in class is mandatory.
Attendance at all tutorials and seminars is required for admission to the exam. Students with unmade absences are not allowed to take the final exam.
Assessment of the course is based on a 50-question, single-choice exam administered during the summer session. A minimum of 60% correct answers is required to pass the exam.
<60% points – unsatisfactory (2)
60-67% points – satisfactory (3)
68-75% points – quite good (3.5)
76-83% points – good (4.0)
84-91% points – above good (4.5)
92-100% points – very good (5)
In the case of a small number of students, an oral exam may be scheduled instead of a test, of which students will be informed on the first day of the course. The retake exam will be oral or written.
