Students who successfully complete the course will be able to:
Demonstrate foundational knowledge of cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin human organ systems.
Explain key neuroscience concepts relevant to system function.
Describe the normal structure and function of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary, endocrine and reproductive systems.
Apply system-level knowledge to interpret basic clinical scenarios and physiological disturbances.
Develop and communicate reasoned, evidence-based explanations in English.
Kryteria oceniania
Primary text: Integrated Systems, Sandra K. Leeper‑Woodford, Linda R. Adkison, Lippincott.
Additional readings and chapter assignments will be provided in seminar handouts.
Assessment methods and grading criteria
Final assessment: Written test (graded).
Pass threshold: 60%.
Grade bands: Remaining grade intervals are set in 8 percentage‑point increments above the pass threshold. Example banding (illustrative):
60–67% — 3.0
68–75% — 3.5
76–83% — 4.0
84–91% — 4,5
92–100% — 5.0
Assessment focuses on comprehension of core concepts, ability to integrate cellular and system-level knowledge, and clear expression in English.
Academic policies
Attendance: Active participation in seminars is expected. Excessive absence may affect the final grade (details to be specified by the instructor).
Academic integrity: All submitted work must be original. Plagiarism or cheating will be handled according to university regulations.
Language: All assignments and the final test will be in English.
