Culture, Mind and Cognition WH-KON-E-CulMinCog
The course offers a brief overview of theories focusing on mental models of culture defined as cultural mind, cultural knowledge, consciousness, and some research on the human brain as a base for human cultural and intellectual activity. Our objective is to discover what "cultural cognitive structure," "cultural conceptual system" and "cultural cognitive representation" are. We will start with the cognitive anthropology of Goodenough, D'Andrade, Lacoff's and Johnson's theorems, and then move on to modern brain science in relation to neuroscience.
