Scope of subjects:
1. Vocational education – analysis of concepts associated with the problem;
2. Professional qualifications and competencies as the result of vocational education and acquired experience;
3. Basic vocational school – the fundamental link in the chain of vocational education;
4. Institutions of non-school forms of vocational education: aims, features, promoters, trends;
5. Employers in vocational education system. Work establishment as a learning organization;
6. Institutions functioning in the field of continuing vocational education: Practical Education Centers, Continuing Education Centers, Centers for professional training and development;
7. Institutions supporting the development of vocational education in the region: Marshal Office, Provincial Employment Office, Regional Development Agencies;
8. European measures for vocational education: Regional EFS Centers, Offices for Human Capital Operational Programme.

Learning outcomes
Student receives profound knowledge on human development (biological, psychical and social), especially in terms of predicting professional usefulness, vocational counseling, andragogy, modern educational systems and advisory activities for people who need support in dealing with adult life problems;
Student has a well arranged knowledge about the goals, organization and functioning of educational, caring, upbringing, welfare and therapeutic institutions – including, most of all, labour market institutions, training facilities, local government and non governmental institutions realizing the scope of continuing vocational education;
Student has a well arranged and profound knowledge about biological, psychological, social and philosophical bases of education and upbringing, especially in terms of environmental conditioning of adult education process;
Student is able to generate original solutions regarding the educational stimulation of adults;
Student is able to cooperate with others, work in a team;
Student acquires profound awareness of his/her knowledge and skills and realizes the need for continuing personal and professional development within his/her specialization.
Assessment criteria
Informative lecture – including, inter alia, multimedia presentations and presentations of selected vocational education institutions (studies project realized in a group) and a corresponding plenary discussion.
